This was a great opportunity to show how a little can go a long way. Here we have a
concrete building transformed into something reminiscent of a Frank Lloyd Wright design.
Probably the most obvious reason for using teak was that Scripps is on the ocean and the
weather has an incredible impact on the structures. As one of the directors mentioned
to me, "We want something that is not only asthetically pleasing, but something my
grandchildren can appreciate".
